From Africa with Love

In “From Africa with love”, the images overlap and mix like those of dreams. The real and the imaginary merge. Memories fade, reality changes shapes, physical and temporal boundaries melt. From these superimpositions of images arise imaginary postcards of a West Africa that I began to photograph more than 20 years ago. Documentary, reportage and fiction intertwine. These stacks like geological stratas testify to the passage of time. Images, faces and places eventually disappear but their energy remains present, as in the depths of a voodoo fetish, feeding secret substances hidden in the depths. Sometimes, as in a dream, landscapes from elsewhere mingle with sirens and other magical creatures encountered on my path.
